Well I had fun yesterday, a dog ran out in front of me while i was on a dirt road going too fast. I avoided it and began to fish tail. I caught a dirt bank on side of road just as i got it back. It ripped the entire rear bumper cover off though. It is back on but a little scratched up. I had to replace som clipps and I made two brackets that hold the center of the bumper because these were ripped off.

I know its mean, but when it comes to animals I just hit them if I'm moving at speed. Seriously, is someones cat/dog or a wild animal like a squirrel/raccoon/fox or badger really worth killing/injuring yourself over?

    nope

If its a dog or cat I stop and try to locate who might have owned it. That I feel obligated to do.

Now, I will do my best to avoid large animals (deer/moose/livestock/large dogs etc) and hard shelled ones like armadillos. But those are likely to cause lethal damage to car and driver (or in the armadillos case.. just the car).

A really good friend of mine tried to avoid a cat one night in the rain, lost it and put her car on its roof.. tumbled a few times and finally came to rest. She was doing the speed limit or about that (I'd ridden with her many times over same patch of road.. she's not the speeding type) .. did permanent damage to her back and neck and had to be in a medically induced coma for two weeks.
That was 5 years ago and she's still having issues.
    All over a retarded cat.

not worth it, just run the fkr over.

Binjoau, wanna meet me in NJ for the first ever European Rallycross in the US? We could do a little photo shoot! Honestly, we could do a 3G meet there. I just don't think the 3g community has that much UMPH yet, if you know what I mean.

Mangostick, I almost completely agree! Whenever deer run out in front of me I try to scare the sh** out of them so they know roads are not safe. Luckily I haven't hit one yet.

Though I have a feeling an armadillo could flip a car at speed. I remember seeing a video of a street cone flipping a car at an autox.

well, I mean you should avoid anything in the road if you can.. but sometimes its just not workable.

Climbed a mountain a couple days ago.

Some places got pretty rough, but didn't scrape once. It's all about your approach.
