This is a discussion on 08+ Impreza Owners Photo Gallery..... within the Member Show-Off & Photography forums, part of the Community - Meet other Enthusiasts category; I thought it was attached by plastic posts that could only be removed by pulling off the rear trim pieces...

speaking of PITA.....why in the world did someone decide 4 clips and 4 hidden screws were a good idea for the grill?

In the process of painting it satin black now....looking much better so far.

yes- that grill is a pita, no doubt about it

the first time I removed I ended taking the entire front bumper cover off!

^ so the rear one pops right off?

Satin black? Just my 2 cents but when I sprayed mine I did it first in satin black and it was way too glossy. It looked out of place so I decided to spray it "trim" or flat black instead. It looks more in place now with the lower grille plastic.

Obviously just my opinion and I share your pain removing the grille, it was not fun!

My fault....I was saying satin but it's flat, the non-shiny kind. I believe you actually had a thread/post on that which determined my color, lol.
