lol its crooked i just placed it on there i have to touch up the black paint a little bit because some of the red got on the black where i didnt want it so ill just fix that then make sure its on straight when i do i final attachment, im debating painting the other badges red as well but i dont think that will look good like the IMPREZA WRX on the back and the SUBARU ALL WHEELDRIVE bs idk let me know what you think

Don't do the back badges. The front is fine because it's 'floating.' The back ones will just look odd. Just de-badge the trunk/hatch.
+1 please don't do the rear badges red
Could you take pics of the rear though? What's this new 2010 AWD tag?
I left just "WRX" on the rear of my 09. Subaru and Impreza were removed.
I may try something red on my WRX badge on the front like you did. Also need to get the sport grill...

came out good
you can do the same to the star badge- little elbow grease removing the blue paint (the starts stay silver) and then re-spray it red
I've done that to several badges and have been happy w/ the results

heat up the badge and carefully pry it out of the housing- it's affixed w/ double sided tape (pretty damn good tape I might add)
once off the real work beginsthere may be a better solvent, but I use nail polish remover and rub and then rub some more- it takes a while to get the oe paint off
once all the paint is removed (it will be clear-sans the silver stars)- spray paint w/ the color you want- a couple of thin coats works best in my experience
let it dry for a day and then get some new double sided tape- done
here's a i-badge I did in black

has anyone tried to backlight the subaru grill badge with led's? Having not had one apart I'm not sure this is even possible, but would be pretty cool.

I think I saw an old diy (close to 10 years ago!) where someone had done that- try peeking over at scoobymods

cool, will do. I'm looking to get a sport grill for my 2010 anyway.. might just see what I can do with the original emblem once I change out the grill.
