    370z Unveiling/car show

this was held at lollicup (asian coffee/tea shop place) yesterday. it was the debut of the 370z. nissan is pretty much traveling around the US to show it off

we had a bunch of nice cars show up (which is what i took pictures of) but there were also a lot of smashed up civics trying to look awesome. they somehow avoided my camera.

    (sorry the pictures suck)

The door handles on the new Z are still incorrect. They need to be fixed, but Nissan at this point seem to have taken the "feature, not bug" attitude for reasons only they could understand. Otherwise it's a nice car.

I believe it is, though the front bumper is from a GT2. It's definitely not a GT2 though since it has rear seats.

After test driving one a month ago I'm really disappointed that it's not more exciting! I got in my STi afterwards and I liked it better!

Wow, really? I've never driven a 911 turbo of any sort. That's disappointing.

I happen to like the side ways door handles they are easier to grab on to. The new ones are a bit smaller though.

They had one of these events at Z car garage in San Jose I wanted to go see it but couldn't make it.

I know. Tastes vary of course. I'd object less -- if at all -- were they placed inside the door sills up high, for example, and were the same colour as the door sills, or if they were left in the same spot but the same colour as the body and protruded less.

They did get rid of some of the other unnecessary weirdness, the strut bar doesn't block the entire cargo area now and the glove box is now longer behind the seat.
