    Thanks and yeah, thats all I have for now. I will upgrade later but for now the 18-55 is good enough. as for Sam he was looking at the leaves blowing on the driveway when I took that pic, but everybody says that he always looks sad.

    LOL at Sam. I recently lost my dog after 15 years! Dogs are fukin' awesome!


    I actually need to upgrade my 'vintage' digital camera. It's a Fujifilm S5000 (10X optical zoom, but only 3.1MPs ). I'm lookin at either a Nikon like yours, a Canon Rebel, or maybe another Fujifilm.

    It seems very capable, I doubt you'll "need" another short lens, even a prime. I always liked the handling of the D40, it is small, well laid out, practical, and capable of making better shots than I can take. It's a great choice at a very attractive price IMO.
