    The circle style flat-bottom boats used to be unlimited, but recently changed over to alcohol only deals. If you run a fully enclosed drivers capsule with full scuba, you can run nitro. There are a few guys that still do. Unfortunately for four laps and anywhere from a 5-8 mile race with as many as four runs of that length per day, the nitro thing does not work out as well as one might imagine. A little hard on the tune up and hard on parts.
    The 69 boat pictured held the kilo record for years. That is an average speed over a kilo, then turning back and running the other direction for another average. Then average the two. Over 146 mph. And that was 20 years ago.
