    What camera...

I've been saving some pennies and I'm probably going to be picking up a DSLR this week. I'm stuck between 3 though.

    - D40 - on sale for a good price locally/good starter camera?
    - Olympus E420 - $50 extra but more features.
    - D60 - A little more pricey but tempting...

You should look for a D50, 6.1mp and you can use all AF lenses with it, the d40 and d60 are limited in their selection to AF-S lenses to autofocus with. Plus the top speed of 1/500 sync helps too.

Definitely the D40 or D60...Its just a matter of how much cash your want to fork out as to which of those two. If not one of those then look into Canons...almost all of your pro photographers use Nikon or Canon. Personally I like Nikons but its really just a matter of opinion.
