S2000 v. WRX

Hey, my friend and I decided to do a little photoshoot since its 50deg outside today (weird since it snowed 2ft of snow 3days ago lol).

He has an '05 S2000 and I have the '05 WRX. Ive got my stockers on for the winter and he has '01 S2000 rims on for the winter.

The quality is ok. Testing out my new wideangle lense.

Sony DSC-W1 5.0megpixel w/ manual settings.
iso 100, 800 fs5.6 -2.0EV, Whitebalance set to sun (yea its ghetto).

The first pic looks nice... SRR is the best. I wish i could have found one when i got my car.

Curious why you used -2.0 EV...was it just too bright out?

I dont think i have the ability to manually change the EV. The camera adjusts it depending on what speed you select and how bright it is outside.

I almost got an S2000 as well, but it has no utility for moving to and from college to home and for skiing.

I know on my sony DSC-W5 which is a very similar camera, you can change the EV. When you are adjusting shutter speed in the manual setting by pushing the right or left arrow you can change it.

The W5 and W1 are the same camera, just one year or so apart. When you click the right or left button it changes the FS amount, not the EV. I know when u click it the pic either becomes normal light or really bright.

Oh, is there anything i can do w/ the camera settings to stop making the images so grainy?

Colors are better, but it's still very underexposed. It's definitely gotta be brighter.

As far as graininess, make sure Auto ISO is turned off and use your lowest ISO possible.

The color is only better because i touched it up in photoshop.

I had ISO at 100, which is the lowest it will go.

It wasnt that sunny out, but sunny enough that i had to have it on my 2nd fastest speed, 800. Then again, I go on how it looks in my LCD and the sun was behind me and i couldnt see the screen well enough till 800.

Yeah, you can't ever trust LCD screens unless you have a histogram function...and even then, you need to know how to read those. If it's still grainy at ISO 100, that may be a noise problem with your camera itself. What size are your original pictures?

2592x1944 - 5megs

I do have a histogram function that could be displayed, but i dont really know how to read it. I wish i had a Canon S500

k yeah that should be plenty big enough. The quick and dirty of reading the histogram is, try to get the graph to look like a bell curve, perhaps slanted a little toward the right. That's not the most technical description, but 90% of the time it works fine for me.
