that 2nd pix you did looks pretty cool. I think you just need to experiment more with the layers and the opacity.

Okay this may be a little hard to explain but I'm hoping one o fyou can help me =D
I have to take this photo
and take this color pallette (at this point I am more curious in the process not about what color goes where)
And overlay paint colors to show the residents what the new color palette will look like on existing buildings, like this:
Now my question is how do I make that look better. IE get the shadows and texture of what is existing to show through and still maintain the color of the original paint. Here are a few examples of what I have done.
I used a combo of changing the layer to Multiply instead of normal and just changing the opacity.. Any help would be greatly appriciated =D

+1 that 2nd pic is pretty good. Its going to be hard to get it to look perfect since that picture is pretty poor quality.

Define better? Do you mean brighter as in having the sun on the building?

Now how do I take the tree and lay it on top of the overlay layer... do I have to painstakingly use the lasoo tool to cut it out and lay it on top?

How's this?
Original
A little day glow.. any ideas on how to make it less bright. I was playing with the opacity and it's at 80% SHould I play with the brightness or do you think that would dull it too much?
Ultimately these will be shown to the owners association of an upscale condo community. We want to show them how the units will look with a new color palette. It may shock them a little in the digital form so any suggestions on how to make it more appealing to the eye would be most appriciated =D
