How do you like Noise Ninja? I have been going back and fourth about purchasing eitehr Noise ninja or NeatImage.

I used NeatImage before I moved over to Noise Ninja. The fact that I've got Noise Ninja as a Photoshop plugin makes it the best thing ever. It already worked better than NeatImage, but now I can use it as a simple filter and thus even include it in Actions, which makes everything easier.

I've got the Pro Bundle Plug-In license. They were badass too because I asked if my license would work when I transitioned from my PC to my Mac and they said it was fine. w00t!

hey, I have a question you might be able to answer for me...I'm looking for a small (preferably flat) digital camera for snapshots, that can also take decent night-time interior shots and can get pretty close to something so I can take pictures of my mods. The camera I had until recently was a cheapo 3MP no-zoom camera about the size of a credit card that I bought for like $80...and while it wasn't the best for anything other than outdoor snapshots (the reason I got it) it did suck hard for anything closer than 3-4 ft and after the sun went down...if I was looking for something relatively cheap, small, and better at darker and closer photography, what should I be looking at.

I've looked at the new Fuji one and the Nikon Z3, but they're a bit to pricey for me...($200+)

are there any older cameras I should look into? that Canon SD110 looks pretty good...how big is it?

If $200 is too pricey for you, then your options are pretty small.

The SD110 is an older model camera...that's why it's so cheap. I got it on sale at that price...Amazon might still have it for $175 though. It's really pretty small...fits into the palm of your hand, but it's relatively thick. It'll fit fine into your pants pocket, but might look kinda funny in your shirt pocket. I take it whenever I go out clubbing or to concerts Here's a few samples...

like I said, its just something to take along when I go out...so I won't get too upset if it gets lost. My last one was $80...not bad for 3MP...but as I said, not that great for taking pictures in clubs...eventhough it had a flash and an LCD screen...and when it fell out of my backpack while I was canoing around Catalina Island I was more upset about losing the pictures that were on it than losing the camera itself.

Happy Birthday, Armin! And congrats on the new lens. There's nothing like pro-glass. Expensive, but worth it.

    Peace,

    Curtis

thanks for the advice. I ended up getting the SD400. I've only had it a few days but I'm VERY impressed. Can't wait to see what happens with Noise Ninja

the macro function is WAY better than I expected. I looked at the Fuji Z1, and Nikon S4 as well, but the SD400 just seemed to kick all their asses.

Good choice on the SD400. It'll DEFINITELY treat you well Make sure you put the nice 30fps 640x480 video function to good use

ok its pretty sad, but I was just unloading the pictures on my memory card from my new camera...and I just realized what the first pictures I took were....they were pictures of my new turbo. Is there something wrong with me?

also, I took some headshots for my girlfriend (and she took some of me....we're both actors with respectable day jobs) and I can't believe how well they turned out! They're WAY better than the professional ones be both got and paid $500+ for!

now, I DO have a degree in photography, but I'm just blown away with the quality of these shots...and the resolution is high enough for 8x10 offset printing....I just zoomed all the way in on the optical zoom, forced the sensitivity to ASA50, used daylight through the window as my main light source, with a couple of small theater lights for balance, and WOW. Canon SD400 kicks ass.
