Infrared (IR) radiation is Electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength longer than visible light, but shorter than microwave radiation. The name means "below red" (from the Latin infra, "below"), red being the color of visible light of longest wavelength. Infrared radiation spans three orders of magnitude and has wavelengths between 700 nanometre(nm) and 1000nm.

This is what happens when i use an infrared filter and filter out almost all light except for infrared. hoya r72 filter basically only lets in light above 720nm
we see from about 400-700 nm

That's sweet dude...been meaning to try that kind of stuff. How much did that filter run you? Also, does it block so much light that you pretty much have to use a tripod no matter what?

57mm is like 40 bucks on bh. With a nikon its about 8 stops darker in BDE. Canon is about 19 stops. You will need a tripod unless you have a wide angle lense set at F4 or wider.

there was a certian sony camera that did that very well with certian types of cloths. Sony figured this out and changed the IR filter in the camera so it wont do it any more. im sure theres some others that can do it.

Very cool pictures. I especially like the one of the tree that looks all white. Makes it look like all the palm trees are covered in frost or something. And about that infared camera taht sees through clothes, I need to get one o thems.
My poor tranny!... someone sell me an aspen white 06 sti.
