kinda dark though isnt it? (not to look a gift horse in the mouth by all means)
My monitors are calibrated and the only detail that is missing is the front lip is a little dark. I can work on it a little more if ya like, the image you posted has some strange artifacting in it already which makes it hard to edit.Originally Posted by 05WRX0704
no no thats fine. im going to have to take some decent pics of the rex this weekend after i wash it near the beach or something and see if i can replicate that.
also, where do the black surrounds come from? do you do that manually or what?
The frame? I just add a border by going into "image" "canvas size" and clicking the relative checkbox and for yours I added a border of 1/2 inch. It helps frame the picture on boards like this with a white bkg, makes the image pop a little better.
nice idea. definately need to take some pics of the rex and get back to ya
im sorry to take your thread so off topic but im not having much luck at the digicam forum...
what is the benefit of raw besides editing? is itself better quality or what? and can you answer the question about resolution/quality? thanks 1bagillion
No problem, if you take a picture at 1600x1200 and resize it to 800x600 the image will be the same exact quality as if you took the picture at 800x600 straight from the camera. There are alot of benefits to RAW, you can change the White Balance setting, the exposure has more flexibility and it is suppose to have 0 in-camera processing done to it which means you have to add sharpness / contrast / saturation and all that good stuff in photoshop which does a much better job than the camera would. So basically RAW gives you flexibility and allows you to manipulate the image the way YOU want instead of the camera just arbitrarily adding sharpness /contrast / sat.
oh ok ill try that for sure.
and what settings do i want to get those bad ass night shots?
That second shot is sweet. Was that shot at the same time as the first? The only thing that detracts from the first shot in my opinion is the windshield reflection.
To asnwer a couple people's questions the second shot was taken the same time as the first, I used my sigma 500dg super flash with a lightsphere 2 difuser and underexposed atleast 2 stops maybe 3.Originally Posted by 05WRX0704
OK, ambient was underexposed ~3 stops, so was what was the flash exp. compensation? Did you post process? ie desaturate or anything else? I'm asking cuz I'm a creative moron. Technicals I can do, but I could never visualize a shot like that... I suck.Originally Posted by Yodaman
