Hey so i hadn't driven my wrx in about 2 weeks (was on vacation,) the day i got back I took it to the gym, and as i was pulling out, underestimated the room I had with the curb of the parking lot. Sure enough after my sigh of relief that my wheel was not damaged, i saw the sizable scrape on my bumper... Owch. Much worse! Anyway, few questions..

How much is this repair going to cost. Its the section of the bumper that kinda sticks out like a flare, under the fog lights and on the side. (2012 model,) about 6-7 inches long...

Secondly, if i have the dealer repair it, is it something that will depreciate the value of my car, does it go in the car fax, just concerned because I have been working my butt off to buy a new STi, and this is really putting a damper on my mood. Its on the plastic section not metal btw.

I was coming in hot into a parking lot driveway, trying to beat holiday traffic on a busy street, and SCRAAAPE. My heart dropped. Same exact spot as you. No one has noticed it until I point it out, but I know its there and it hurts my heart. Im thinking of just buying the WRB paint from Grimmspeed since its not too horrible in my case, and my car is brand new so no fading.

Only a body shop can give you a price. We can all guess, that that guess with $1.25 will get you a cup of coffee. Car Fax gets reports from insurance companies. So if you file an insurance claim, it might show up. A good paint shop should be able to make the repair seemless.

    Scrapped bumper... :( question!?

Oh well I'm not going to be telling my insurance company, theres no reason for that. Just wondering if I should use my dealer, or a local body shop. And if there is any disadvantages of using the dealership.

I don't want them to be like, "oh you scraped your bumper? No problem, LET ME JUST TAG YOUR CAR IN OUR COMPUTER SYSTEM AS CRASHED AND DAMAGED." Lol

As I understand it, you mean there is paint missing from a section of the bumper. The bumper itself is intact? Any body/paint shop can repair it. Cost depends on the area & extent of damage.

Yeah man plastic fibers are peeling off, and some of the rivets that hold the the bumper to the car popped off and one is missing, the other two seem to not stay fitted in their correct hole. So not sure if the body shop will have the oem rivets or i will need to pick some up from the dealer.

You can pick up the rivets from the dealer. They are about $2-$3 each.

Will the subaru paint be easy to get? Also on a side note, does that paint chip doctor thing work, not for this but for small stuff, lol
