    Driveshaft maintaince

    Quick question:
Does 2006 Impreza required periodic driveshaft maintains and what places?
I think it caught my attention in some of the earlier post on this forum, that dealer says this service is necessary. I can't find any relevant info in the schedule maintains manual.
I am planning to do some work on my car when it hit 75K, so I though I include drive shaft greasing as well if needed while car on jack stands.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

If it's not in the manual or an update by SOA, it's not required maintenance. What a dealer might say is not relevant.

    Hi Alex!

From what I remember there are drivetrain inspections in the maintenance schedule, but I don't recall any actual maintenance.

    Hi,
I guess I still have the ghosts of the old school cars in me, the ones we did grease driveshaft, bolt joints and other moving parts, lol

The drive shaft isn't designed to be serviceable, at least by Subaru, I'm sure many other shops would/could replace failed parts. The carrier bearing for instance is pressed on to the front half of the shaft, degraded rubber = new drive shaft according to Subaru...
