    CEL won't turn off

Got code 0131, so I replace front O2 sensor, disconnected the battery to reset the computer, and the light came back on. Had it checked and same code, reset the computer again, this time with the code reader and the light came on again. Some people have been telling me to drive from 50-100 miles and it will go off. Do I still need to drive it to get the light to go off even if I reset the computer? I have a 2003 Impreza WRX.

The code could be legitimate. Check the wiring again, and search for other reasons you might be getting the code.

No, if the light is coming back, you haven't solved the problem. Could be a circuit issue. Where did you get the o2 from? If it's aftermarket, it could be the problem too.

I originally bought a universal O2 senor made by Bosch, but I'm returning it and getting the OE replacement tomorrow so hopefully it'll work.

That's a good idea, those universals rarely work properly
