Im having the same problem. The compression tester I rented from Autozone looks to be way too short. It has a screw on adapter for my spark plug thread pitch which means if I screw it on tight enough into the cylinder, then when I go to unscrew the entire thing it will surely leave the adapter stuck inside the cylinder. I dont have the money to buy an adapter just for a compression tester that I rented. Any ideas here? Loctite the adapter onto the compression tester and hope it holds onto the tester and not onto my cylinder head?

As you can see from the last pic, the head of the adapter is MUCH larger than the head of the spark plug. Will a socket even fit around it inside of the spark plug well?
