Normally, no. For example, Momo shift knobs use 3 set screws that you tighten down to keep it from moving. Most aftermarket ones use the same method.

Thanx. I'm trying to visualize - does that mean that I have to drill holes into the stick to accommodate the extra screws?

    TIA,
    Robert

No, the set screws tighten into the threads of the shifter. Ouch. Or you could buy an adapter from "Paulie" on I-club that will save your threads.

    Nice pics SpeedRacer

This is a dumb question but ... so the aftermarket knobs have screw, like 3 screws, that one use to tighten the knob whereas the stock knob has thread in itself

SpeedRacer, what do you mean by rubber piece?

    TIA,
    Robert

Yes. There are a couple other knobs that don't use set screws either. The ones that come to mind are the Prodrive, Kartboy, and the STi knobs.

    SpeedRacer,

I think I can visualize the image So basically a rubber over the OEM threaded shaft. You mentioned that the rubber is there so that the 3 knob screws do not get into the thread - with the screws just penetrating the rubber is the knob sturdy enough?

    TIA,
    Robert

Ratz, I'm doing a search here but I can't find that picture posted in one of the threads that showed a MOMO knob that had the same logo as on the Rex's steering wheel ... does anyone know?
