illuminated ignition ring in 02

I was jealous that the 03 and up have a lighted keyring. How come they get to see in the dark and I can't? So I picked up a used 2003 wrx ignition that came with the illuminated ring for 20 bucks off of ebay . I installed it directly to the battery with an inline fuse. I originally wanted it to come on with the dome light but I was unsure where the relay was. I think that it’s located in the head liner but I don’t know. The battery was a lot easier. So the ring is on the time.

I wouldn't leave your car too long with that on. It will eventually drain the battery.

The ignition and the light are two separate pieces. The light just slides on over the ignition switch.
