    Removing Shift Knob

What's the best way to remove the shift knob from the shift boot? I unscrewed the shift knob but it's being retained by something plastic inside the shift boot. Do I need to cut some of the stiching on the boot?

its a pain, the boot feels like it still attached and you dont wanna pull cuz you think youre gonna break something, right? wrong. thats what i thought too....pull that sucker, the boot is just hung up on a lip on the bottom of the knob. yank it.
