Getting new speakers.... (Question!)

Decided to get my car a gift for Christmas. Found a really good deal on the Infinity Kappa 42.5i / 4". I search on Crutchfield and they said these 4" speakers will fit. However, another place said it wouldn't fit. What size is our speakers?

I'm not much of an audio kinda guy, so I'm not positive on this. I was just up at a car audio store as my gf is getting me some new speakers for Christmas...and IIRC, you can fit 6 1/2's up front and 4's in the back. I am not positive though, so don't quote me...I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.

I have 6.5" up front and 5.25" in rear. I bought spacers for the front so they would clear the window and made custom adapters in the rear out of abs plastic.

they should fit....but I'd go with at least a 5.25 if not a 6.5 up front.......it will definetly sound better with a bigger speaker up front....but the 4's would be perfect for the back!

What brand are you using? How you like the sound?

Hey, my friend has got the kicker ss component set in his 02 GTi, along w/a polk/momo 12" mm sub, and it sounds fantastic. The kickers are AMAZING for low-mid/mid/high response. When you pair these speakers w/a sub, everythign is just amazing. The speakers are quite expensive (~$900 MSRP), but I found them on ebay for 420 shipped. If ur willing to put a decent amount of money into a system (sub, amps, speakers), definitly consider going this route.
I've got a infinity kappa perfect 12d VQ sub, and will be putting in these speakers in about 2 weeks. I'll be sure to let you know how they sound.
