For all those with a sub ? ? ?

I have an 05 STi. Getting a 12inch JL W3 sub in a sealed box with about 300w RMS. With it being in the trunk and there being no direct openings in to the cabin will the bass get through too me as such or will is be muffeled?

How it will sound depends on what kind of box you are going to get for the sub. I think JL audio's like to be in Bandpass boxes, but i'm not really a fan of those boxes. Ask your local stereo shop what would be best, and you might want to dynamat that trunk.

you'll have plenty enough bass with that setup, don't worry about any muffledness

I know bass gets through, its just will it be significantly less than in a hatchback. I had a similar set up too the one I am putting in the STi in my previous hatchback and with 300w it was ample. I am just thinking with it being a sedan will I need more power or will it still be loud enough?

Loud enough is of course very subjective, but i'm pretty sure that it should be enough.

1 15" cerwin vega stroker $420
1 rockford amp 1000-1500w


but if ur on a budget get 2 cerwin vega 12.4's
they cost less then 200 shipped for the pair and they kick ass

he said he already had his setup bro. and i think one 12 would be fine. I have 1 infinity 12" 1232 in my trunk and it rattles my ba11s... and a w3 is only 10x better.
