After 4 hours of grinding MY00 Impreza brackets, they are in!
The rear seats are stock, but I plan to get matching
Recaro fabric and recover the rear seats and the door panel
inserts.
There is a chassis bump/ridge near the mounting hole
closest to the seat belt bracket. What I had to do is grind
off a triangle shaped piece off the square seat bracket to
clear the bump. Even with the grinding, it did not go down
far enough (the hole is slotted) so it sat 1/2" higher in that
corner. What I did to fix that was used a 1/2" spacer on the
other side of the bracket and a longer bolt to make the
rear of the seat sit level to the floor. Also, the seat belt
bracket will hit the center console, so I just had to bend
it back a little to clear. I'll get some better looking spacers
made, as I'm just using a big nut... but overall I'm pleased
with the fit.

Yes, I installed them myself.
I am getting an airbag light, but as soon as my 3 ohm
resistors come in, that should be fixed.

What is the weight difference between the two stock seats, brackets, and hareware and the Recaros with your bracketing solution?
They look great by the way! Comfy?
I'm still up in the air with my JDM STi/Sparco/Recaro debate.

Recaros feel a good 10lbs lighter each, even with the
brackets and sliders.
They are SOOO comfortable, I feel like falling asleep in there
sometimes. It's like being in the arms of a woman with big
boobies!

Matt, if you ever have the seats out of the car again, weigh them for me, I think there is more than a 10 lb. difference! The stock seats are VERY HEAVY.
