    Try a new stereo.

Anyway, why do you want to know about the 04 STi radio??? You need to wire up the entire car and install speakers. If you just install the radio, well....it'll work and all, but there will be no sound. So .. unless your deaf, this could potentially be quite frustrating.
Those fools, EVO vs. STi??? That's like comparing ....wait a minute...there's no comparison. The Suby's still working!!! The evo...well... I hope he got the extended warranty.

not really sure what you are talking about here, the 04 sti is all wired, all you need is a head unit and speakers. the antenna is in the back window and wired to the dash.

04, usually does not have any speaker wires, pull off the door panel on a completely stock one and you'll be amazed to see the lack of any cable. Here in Cali, I've yet to see a stock 04 STi with wires that were not added afterwards. So if yours is completely stock, the way it was when it rolled off the boat, then it should have no wires in the door. Hence the lack of sound when you hook up the radio.

the wires are there man, you just have to look for them. mine was used, 3000 miles, but the previous owner had no stereo at all. the wires were there in all 4 doors taped up and clipped to the door.

these are the factory wires, i was an installer for 4.5 years and i know factory wiring from aftermarket.

also the 04 sti has a harness in the dash just waiting for an aftermarket radio.

do some searching, you do not know what you are takling about (sorry no offense inteded)

next time you see one with the door panel off, look at the tweeter location, it is even pre-wired, and that clip is not even hidden.
