I spent 4 hours ripping apart my dash and using a dremmel to custom make a dash panel to fit under my headunit that would relocate my turbo timer and Defi-Link control in-dash. I was completely done and putting everything back together when one of the clips broke off and fell inside the link controller. I took it apart and my friend accedentally touched the curcuit board to a peice of metal on my Eclipse headunit and .... kapooiee! Flash, smoke, burn mark. I did not have the key in/ power on when it fried so I don't think I hurt the gauges themselves....??? It's gonna cost me $110 to get a new controller and I'm pissed.
A fcuked up rim and this all in one week.......
My gauges should be OK, right???![]()

The head unit is fine... There is a small peice of metal on the front of the face, and this is what the circuit board came in contact with. The power was not on..... my friend at Tweeter told me not to worry about the gauges but I won't know until the new Link unit comes in this weekend.... I just don't want it to go from costing me $100 to costing $1000 for new gauges....

I put the new unit in a few hours ago and everything is fine.![]()
I guess it could have been a lot worse and I'm not that mad anymore. Now I just gotta work on sending it back to Defi as a "defective unit"....![]()
