Squeeky Seatbelt????

OK So when I pull the seat belt across my body it makes an annoying ear peircing squeek. Anybody have an idea as to what is causing this? Does something in there need to be greased? It only does it on the drivers seatblet.

I have the same prob, but dont know what it is. I had a 92 dakota before my rex that made lots of sounds when you moved stuff, so i do not really mind it too much.

So it doesn't look like there's a fix other than bringing it into the dealer. Unfortunately mine is out of the 36K BTB warranty. I've thought of lubing the belt with oil but was afraid it may stain my clothes or something

It only squeaks when I pull the belt to fasten it. No noise though when I pull it really slowly...

Yeah... My seatbelt still squeeks. It goes away from time to time. But whenever it starts back up its soooo annoying. I'm still trying to find a remedy for it. I'll keep you all posted.

I have an '04 wagon and I also get the belt squeal. I've noticed that it's only the driver seat belt, and it's worse when the belt is warm (summer) and almost non-existant when cold (winter). The only solution I've come up with is to just pull slower and it doesn't squeal, but complaining to the dealer isn't a bad idea, either.

I just came on this board to ask about this as well. It's been happening for the past 3 months. I notice when it's hot out as well... My God, it is so ear-piercing though!! Can't handle it sometimes... makes my whole body shiver...

I'm glad I'm not the only one...

lol... Yeah its even worse when you sit there and pull viciously at it trying to get it to stop. I've get more "wtf are you doing" looks from that. Not to mention my passengers asking why I'm so irritated from just a little squeeking... little, yeah right...

omg, why did you say this. I had never noticed it before but now every time I pull my friggin seatbelt the damn thing squeaks and I flip out. ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
