This is a discussion on darn stupid SBC control module! within the Interior Mods forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; the thing won't stay put!!! how did you guys mount yours? the double sided sticky tape sucks....

    Hidden under the heater controls, stuck on top of the ashtray. The sticky stuff seems to be holding it just fine, but of course I haven't looked back in there since I installed it so I guess it might have come loose. Haven't heard any rattles though.

    I have some industrial strength VELCRO. I'm thinking of putting mine on that flap between the visors. Jama (from I-club) had his there and it looked pretty good. I also like under the e-brake handle, but I'm worried I'd bump it too much.

    oh...i haven't even mounted my display unit yet....

    i'm talking about the silver box where everything connects. i have it mounted behind the glove box and it seems to be staying there now.

    i still have no idea where i'm going to put my display

    My head unit is next to the upper drink holder, below the center vent. A popular location it seems.

    Ok, it looks like the best place for the silver box is behind the glove box. I'm going to use the insdustrial strength velcro to hold it there. I'm going to put my display unit under my e-brake handle. I checked it, and my hand won't bump it, and you can see it well from the driver's seat. Another spot I considered was in the armrest extension, but it's not that visible there.

    I don't have an SBC-ID (Yet...) but I bet the best stuff to hold it in place is that velcro stuff that comes with EZ-Pass. I think it's made by 3M. It's extremely strong adhesive, but it's the click velcro, it's not soft, so rattling won't dislodge it.
