The fittings probably work fine but I just prefer the barbed. Under the hood, I would say definitely use a brass barbed tee because of temperatures but at the gauge it can be tricky to make it fit in a pod. The main thing is the nylon, it gets holes very easy. Also it doesn't have to be huge either. I'm pretty sure I used 1/8" and it's VERY responsive. It's pretty much instantaneous. I'll try to get pics of mine soon.

Granted, the Defi's do cost an arm and a leg. Yes, you can get a good gauge for much less. I, for example, bought Blitz BL's (no longer in production). They work fine, were half the price of the Defi gauges, but having seen the Defi in real life, makes me a believer that they are worth the money, as they are nicer and better gauges. The question with 'exotic' items, such as these, is not whether they are worth it, but whether their price and your bank account can agree with one another on finding you happiness. If not, buy a less expensive, not cheaper, gauge and move on. No need to spread your hate towards those who can, have, and do, simply because you can't, have not, or won't.
That is not a fair comparison. A daewoo does not serve the samer purpose as a WRX. Not to mention i think comparing gauges to cars is not really worth anyones time

I'm not "spreading my hate" i just think they're overpriced and i will voice my opinion. Vendors sure do like to sell them though i bet. I don't doubt that they are pretty, but i also know they're overpriced.

kit, UTEC doesn't flat out read boost afaik. It takes MAP (manifold absolute pressure).

guys, here is my peak boost. this is the peak boost I can hit in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear..
of course it nevers stays in ~14.5psi / 1bar , but the point is, it hits this peak.
the picture shows it , a tad hair below 1 bar, but my peak has in also a tad hair above 1bar as well.

concern is, my engine is stock and people said peak boost is only 13.5, but clearly it could not be. of course my gauge isnt 100% accurate, but installation and everything is done to the T.
