Cobra here, used, from Ebay.
Paid for itself already. Odd thing happened the other day though. I was braking for an onramp when I got a laser alert. Normally, this means that if one is in violation, one is about to be violated - the alert comes too late to be any good. But I was braking for a sharp bend and going much slower than the limit, plus there was mild traffic too. I wonder what possessed whoever was lurking around to have a look at me -- the car or curiosity or boredom? No lights, no ticket in mail, no nothing. Go figure.

Vanitas vanitatum...et omnia vanitas
How does everyone with the valentine one like theirs? I cant decide whether to get the valentine one or 8500 x50. I heard the escort has false alarms from the trubo spool
That's the funniest thing I've ever heard you should kick that person in the balls.Originally Posted by Gsabe

Have they made improvements on those? I remember when I got my first, I was told to stay away from the cordless because they aren't quite as effective...and batteries....ew!
I'm using a Passport SR1. It's an older unit, but it has saved my butt many times!
I have the solo s2, I looked it up when I was getting it. It's range is almost as good as the 8500. It's saved my ass more times than I can count.Originally Posted by MountainMotor

Escort 8500 x50. I really like it but I kind of wish I had the V1, just for the directional arrows...

I know mine saved me MANY times on the trips to and from FL...2500 miles of straightness = getting bored and trying to drive really fast in Kansas.
It has more than paid for itself - but next will be the V1 - *twitterpated* haha

I bought the V1 2 weeks after purchasing my '03 wrx. In the 3 years that I've owned it and the car, I have yet to receive a ticket for speeding (or driving... aggressively) which I am known to do. The directional arrows let me detect speed traps, if there are units coming up from behind me, and how many there are. It is expensive, and a cheaper detector may work fine, but I think the peace of mind is worth every penny.
i had an escort once but then it met a stop sing
Tomorrow isn't a guarantee.
V1 This thing is the bomb. I love the cheap upgrades when they make improvements.
Sorta OT... Anyone try that Phazer 2 thing? It is supposed to be a "legal" radar/laser jammer.
