    Like subarus, need leg room

Hello all. First ime on this site. I am shopping around for a little turbo car, my 73 stage I Gran Sport + 91 octane is killing me here in CA. I like the SRT-4's and the Subarus. I am 6'3", 265. I can fit in the SRT-4 fine, left leg is totally straight when the clutch is depressed. I actually prefer the WRX (or the turbo, 5 speed 2004 forester), but the seat does not go far back enough, and my left shoulder rubs on the pillar between the front & rear door. I did sit in an STI, with the different seats, it seems roomier-the shoulder is behind the pillar and the legs get more room. I know the Japanese can be a tad small, but Sumo wrestlers make me look lilke a friggin super model. Has anyone here done anything to get more leg room in their WRX?
    Thanx.

I dont know how you could search on this topic to get any answers.

But I really do not know what to tell you. There have been threads with people discussing how tall they are and how they fit in the wrx. I'm 5 10 and a whopping 155. So its obviously not a problem for me. Maybe some people can help you out on this thread. Or look for those and maybe pm those people for suggestions.

    Best of luck to ya.

I know there are people your size that have the car and fit. Maybe if your legs are that much longer the tracks for the chair can be extended farther back? But would require a good amount of work id imagine. I have no idea how much would go into that.

6'3" 200 lbs. No problems whatsoever. My left leg is fully straightened when I depress the clutch and the seat is not al the way in the furthest back position.
My shoulder never touches the B pillar either. Maybe your seat was set too far back of an angle.

Yo tambien am 6'3" about 210. I used to sit all the way back, but since Skip Barber, I sit in a better seating position and I don't put the WRX seat all the way back. I have no trouble with legroom. Its the people sitting behind me that do.

I thought there was a thread somewhere where someone took one spring out of their seat to make the seat's bottom sit flatter for comfort (because they were big size). ...can't remember off the top of my head which forum it was, but I know it was on this site...

I'm not sure whether it'd help, but the seats are height adjustable. I didn't realize it and of course found a lever to mess with, only to find out I couldn't get the seat the way I was comfortable anymore. You might just have to get used to it. I know I sit a lot closer to the steering wheel than I used to, not because there isn't enough room but because it gives me more control over the clutch. Good luck!

I love the WRX, but I'll probably get an 05 Legacy turbo this summer. It's a little bit bigger than a WRX, so I imagine it has more interior room. I have not test driven one yet, but I hope to as soon as a dealer near me gets one.
