It is really nice to be able to rest your arm there, but it is QUITE pricey for a little box that replaces the standard console cover...

I guess my biggest concern is if it really gets in the way when you're shifting....I've heard others say that it "kinda" does get in the way...thanks for your inputs!..keep'em coming!
I never feel the extension unless I consciously put my elbow there. I don't bang it on shifts and I have the short shifter.
I bought mine not too long after I got the car. I like it and have not regretted buying it. I'm 5'10" and my car has the normal shifter -- the armrest extension is not in my way.
I like mine. It adds a little more storage space, and it's the right height for "short" people.
It is pricey; mine ran ~$105 from Liberty Subaru.
I can't stand mine, and it gets in the way EVERY time I shift. I'm only 5' 10" but have really long arms.
If any one in seattle wants to swap for the regular arm rest I'd be more than happy.

So...the arm rest extension is just the "extension part", right?...does it come with the lid part?...does having the extension mean you actually have 2 compartments for the arm rest?...Thanks!
The extendor is basically a replacement for the basic lid on the basic armrest. It's a compartment in itself that acts as a lid for the standard compartment...errr...wow, I think I just went cross-eyed.

Anyone wanna sell me their arm rest extension? I have the 04 (I think the 02's have slight different interior color).
All '02-'04's take the same extention, there is only one color availiable.
