Thumbs up JDM STi Spec C seats installed

Got these pretty things from Myles at Racecomp Engineering www.racecompengineering.com... pics were taken in the dark with flash so they're not all that... the seats, however, are all that...

i despised my stock widebody 04 seats which i felt like i was swimming in every time the car changed direction. these seats keep me firmly planted, feeling the bolsters grab you gives you much more confidence and a feeling of being connected to the car. especially the leg bolsters come right up to meet your thighs, unlike stock which is like a bench and anything in your pockets will slide down in the space between your leg and the bolster. the bottom and back seat cushions feel a little bit firmer too.

only downside is losing height adjustability on the driver side, but how many cars have height adjustment anyway? it's pretty useless for me. oh yea, lost my heated seats and side airbags too but i don't really mind.

    me likey very much

how do you get pics to appear inline? they only show up as links

So they are just more narrow? That's it? I see how that would benefit some of the "skinny" people.

they were over a grand but still much less than what other vendors sell them for. contact myles www.racecompengineering.com if serious about getting a set.

they are narrower, yes, but the panels are shaped much differently also. the 04 wrx and sti seats are wide, flat, and that's pretty much it. i would dare say the worst seats i've ever sat in even over those in our 95 saturn SL. the spec c seats are curved around the leg area and shoulder area, you slip right in.

I have a complete version 7 interior in my car (basically the v7 STi seats and nice alcantra door cards )

It is totally awesome for driving quickly, and doesn't wreck you on short trips around town. They're basically the same design as the Spec C, only mine don't have the black bolster in the crotch, and don't have the alcantra on the headrest (it stops at shoulder level).

I'm sure everyone here can tell you how great they are, but I'd like to just post up a couple of quick warnings:

    1) You lose height adjustment, and pretty much any adjustment other than forward and back, which is a bummer sometimes

    2) virtually NO lumbar support, which is cool for hard turns, but gives me a serious back ache after about 2 hours of driving (I'm in shape, 150 lbs, 5'9", so it's not that I'm the wrong size or anything)

    3) They don't fit anyone that is even slightly overweight or "plus size"

    4) very very hard...not a lot of cushion for the tooshie.

That being said, I have no question they are the best seats for the car, but every once in a while it's nice to drive my mom's volvo with big soft sofa cushion seats
