    Clifford Car Alarm?

Well I got a job a best buy, so my huge discount has made thier best car alarm ($500 Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5) available to me for $170

Now I know best buy prolly doesnt stock the greatest car alarms, but w/ a 300 dollar discount I'm buying here.

Is the Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 a good car alarm? What else is out there that is better? What do you guys have?

Lastly, is this something I can install myself? My car is a manual, will I be able to get the remote start to work? I know it will be hard, but can it be done? How?

    Thanks guys

I have that alarm, everything wired except for the clutch bypass switch for the remote start.

You could install it yourself, check out nasioc.com because they have a couple stickies and write ups on the wiring etc.

Great alarm. . .same as the Viper 791xv. I installed a 790xv in my car. . .previous model before the 791xv. . .same as the Clifford Matrix RS3. It was my first alarm install so I took my time. Took about 15 hours to install. I added many options to the alarm though so it took a bit longer. Remote start is doable, I have it on my car. You have to tap the neutral position sensor off the ECU in to the hoodpin for safety. As stated above, check out nasioc.com as there are many posts there including wiring guides. You'll most likely need to purchase some additional relays and a diode to isolate the NPS wire.

I would also add a backup battery, proximity sensor, mini piezo siren, and use a magnetic switch for the hood instead of a hood pin. The benefit of doing the install yourself is that no one else knows where things are located and you can take the time to hide the wires in a better fashion. I wrapped electrical tape over all the wires so that they would look like OEM. Best of luck!!
