    STI Wheel??

I just recieved my USDM STI steering wheel today in the mail. Ive been searching through the forums all day trying to find out how this gets plugged in, but have had no luck.

Heres the differences between the STI and the 02 WRX wheel. The STI has 5 wires, while the WRX has 6 wires running to its plug.

Has anyone done this? Does anyone one know how I can find out what needs to be done??

    Thanks,

    -John

02 WRX now JDM V8 STI (too many mods for my own good)

Nope, the USDM STI has cruise control, my wheel has the lever and everything. The JDM STI on the other hand does not have cruise control, which is probably what your thinking of.

This should help with some of it, I need to check the color of my wires etc. Only difference is that I have a USDM wheel and you have the JDM wheel, so I need to find a way to wire in the cruise control, hmmmm.

    Thanks,

I wonder if the cruise control unit from your old wheel will just unscrew and and mount in the new wheel - depends on the mounting holes, but unlikely I suspect.

As far as I remember, the cruise control has three wires which connect to a plug that inserts into the steering column. I would imagine each wire controls the signal depending on which way you move the lever - up/down/pull etc. Hopefully the STi wheel will be set up much the same and you can just splice the new unit to the old harness.
