i saw on the defi site that there is a device, a sort of intermediate "plate" if you will, that attaches between your oil filter designed for temp or pressure sensor attachment....seemed like a better route to go.....
This is a discussion on oil temp gauge within the Interior Mods forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; for those of you who installed the temp sensor into the drain plug, how hard was it? does anyone know ...
for those of you who installed the temp sensor into the drain plug, how hard was it?
does anyone know of a place that makes the drain plugs pre-tapped for the temp probe?
thanks!

I used the Defi sandwich. It has two 1/8 NPT bungs and beats the heck out of using the drain plug. And, you can install an oil pressure sender there too. Wiring comes up near the fans. You need to protect the wires from heat.
i'm looking to go the other way, though - wouldn't u want to put the probe in the oil pan anyway?
so how much is the setup ur talking about?
plz post links to all this stuff, thanks!
