An appropriately-sized rubber o-ring should be able to hold the boot up.
There are a few solutions to holding the boot up. One is to get a plastic soda bottle cap,cut an "X" in the center, and force it over the shifter threads. This will form a "shelf" that will hold up the boot.
A much better solution, since it reduces the dependency on the small allen screws, is to get the MOMO adapter that's been discussed previously on this board. Once you assemble this thing, it makes the "standard" MOMO just like the WRX-specific one- it will screw right on to the shifter, it snaps into the boot, and it has O rings to hold the boot up.
Wish i could get that excited about a shift knob![]()
Drag racing? I like my racing to last longer than the average orgasm...
The generic momo shifter with the set screws (like apod just got) sits much lower that the screw on subaru one. It goes well with a sort throw...

do they make a momo knob that screws on like that
No sure...most just come up with a way to "make" it fit. I bought one (one as in adapter) from Paulie over on the "other" board. Pretty cool guy...and the adapter looks exactly like the one you could pull out of the stocker (if it came out).
I have the Race Air Leather, and my sticker came off after about a year too. Metal gets a bit hot in the summertime. Other than that it's a perfect match.
Yep...will have pics to post with it installed tomorrow.
i have the Momo Air Leather Shift Knob its blue to match my car![]()
