    rearview digital compass all wacked out?

    i have the auto dimmer/digital compass in my review mirror. well i just got the car out of storage and my compass is all wacked. it reads east/west alright but wont read south and like to stick on north. i could be going south it'll read north.

    the only readings it'll give is n, nw, ne...

    is this common, do i need to disconnect battery to reset it maybe? is there something else to fix this or is it a lost cause?

    I recall something in the owners manual about recalibration. Have you checked there yet?

    taking a look in a few minutes.

    i was told something about making sure the zone was set correct on the compass then go out into a wide open empty parking lot and drive in a circle 3 or 4 times. i guess it kinda acts like gps and has to reset/locate itself.

    Yeah, that's what I remember from the manual.
    Also something about big structures and those big metal light posts messing it up. I don't remember.

    well i did what the manual said to, still isnt reading south.

    guess i'll try resetting the battery.
