    Gauge Info Needed!!

Recently, I was watching some reruns of wrc on speed channel. I've noticed that on some wrx's, the gauge pod on top of the dash board was also displaying the gear that the car was in. I'm wonder if you guys noticed anything like that for sale. I've done some search on that, but came up empty. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks. Peace.

why would you need such thing??? You don't have a sequential gearbox, do you?? U can easily know which ger u're in by touching the shifter.

I know what you are talking about, but I'm not sure if you could get it for our cars.

It may be easier to do on a 4EAT because there should be something in the ECU somewhere that says what gear it is in. This may be true for the 5MT as well, not sure though. Maybe look through some ECU Pin-out diagrams?

i Just checked the wiring diagrams and there is nothing that tells the Ecu what gear the tranny is in. If you are really intent on having a light tell you what gear you are in, they make those for sport bikes so maybe you can fab one up so it works. Good luck.

Everyone knows what you are talking about - but it is a special piece of equipment for the rally cars that is integral to the electro-hydraulic sequential gearboxes that are used in competition - there is a lot of difference between that car and what we drive - a lot!!!!
Also - as noted above, there is no electronic means of telling which gear the manual gearbox is in.
