    need info on radar detectors

I got my first ticket in my rex about a month ago. Now I want to get a radar detector. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have been looking at the Rocky Mountain Radar -C410. Does anyone have this Radar or know anything about it? any information would be helpful.

I'm pretty sure Rocky Mountain Radar is garbage. That's just from reading reviews. Jammers usually do not work, and the detection in this one isn't all that great, either.

You get what you pay for. Best bets are the Valentine 1, Passport 8500, and Bel 985. (I just ordered the Bel...)

    Stock. Very stock.

I've read everywhere that Rocky Mountain stuff is awful. I got and swear by my Valentine One after riding in my friend's S4 equipped with one. I was amazed at the detection range and accuracy. I've driven over 10k miles in about 2 months and it has honestly saved me from about 4 speeding tickets on highways late at night.

Same here. The V1 may be better, but I like the 8500 better.

Rocky mountain of crap. Don't get that, get a valentine 1 if you can afford it, if not, passport 8500.
