anyone know about wiring Version 8 sti seats and airbags?

My version 8 sti interior (panels and seats) swap into a 2003 wrx is complete. except for one minor problem. The airbag light is on . now i know someone else who has them and didnt have his come on. so something is obviously wrong with my wiring etc. the only thing i can thing of (since it was just plug and play) is that the drivers side seat has an extra plug, but we had no idea what it was for because it didnt appear to hook up to anything. can anybody help me out? after dodging a deer in the middle of the road last night, i wouldnt mind having airbags for just in case. (plus i hate that red light)
my friend who has the seats says that the extra wire was for the seatbelt light, but that isnt the problem. anyone?

Unless I am confused I think that Version 8 seats do not have airbags aleast my Ver 7 seats did not. If the extra cable you have is yellow plug on the end that is for the OEM seats airbag.
Like most of us that have this problem we have to either live with the lite or make a fix for it which involves a resistor on the end of the airbag plug. You can do a shearch on here to fix it or over on Nasioc.

but a USDM version 8 interior does have airbags...

the yellow cable is hooked up. still have that darn air bag light

AH there US seats then thats a different story I thought you ment JDM. And you say there is an extra plug on the seat, do you have the seatbelt plug attached? Is the yellow cable attached to the yellow plug on the seat?

the wrx seats didnt have this plug. it appears to be extra so we didnt install it because i have no idea where it goes. the yellow plugs are installed so basically we just hooked everything up like it was on the wrx interior. the other plug was? and if its needed, where do you hook it up to?
