This is a discussion on 60mm Gauge pod that doesn't look stupid within the Interior Mods forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; How many gauges are you looking to install? I only wanted one, so I got the SubieGal single 60mm Dash/A-Pillar ...

How many gauges are you looking to install?

I only wanted one, so I got the SubieGal single 60mm Dash/A-Pillar pod. It finally arrived Tuesday (long story - 10 month delay...) and I ordered a 60mm Omori WRX-look boost gauge from Gruppe-S. It should be here tomorrow.

It mounts in the corner on the dash against the pillar. Anyway, here's the pod just setting in the car. I'll add pics as I install it.

    I'm not really a fan of A-pillar.
I would use the oem pod if I could find someplace that carries wrx-look omori gauges that are 45mm or 52mm

I'm gunna get EGT, oil press, oil temp. And if I have the extra cash I might get a 45mm boost gauge and replace it with my oem one ( I can't stand that the oem gauges don't match)

60mm seems to be the only size any one carries, only reason I don't want 60mm is so my gauge pod doesn't look like this:

What mods do you have done?
If you where to get a Defi 3 Pod what 2 guages other than BOOST would you get and why?
Im am not hardcore so I dont know what gauges would be the most benificial.
    Thanks ahead of time.
There's no need to appologize...I'm happy to help There is an EGT probe in the uppipe and about 95% of aftermarket uppipes have bungs for the probe. So there's no need for a CEL fix. That probe does read your EGTs for the ECU. One you get a UTEC, there's an EGT reading and I believe that's where it comes from. When you get an aftermarket EGT gauge, you'd usually tap it into the exhaust manifold.

As for which other 2 gauges I'd get, that would have to be an EGT and an oil temp. Many people will tell you to get an oil pressure gauge, and that's fine too. There's sort of a debate as to which one will serve you better. I think, they'll both help. The reason I say oil temp is because that's what Dan (God) said, and I live by his words of wisdom

As for my mods, after this weekend I'll be a full Turbo XS stage 4 plus an intake and BOV

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with

I paid 670 shipped for mine from dan at godspeed. So it actually was an arm a leg AND an eye. My egt probe is in the exhaust manifold- my godspeed uppipe has a port for the factory egt probe so that wasn't a problem. I believe it was worth it because the gauges are very nice and easy to read and get lots of compliments.

P.s. Fahd- you got any pics?

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like the defi pod. Too bad I'm not out to impress anyone but myself.

I might call up gruppe-s and see if he can get them for me. (smaller size gauges)

I agree with you it looks a little RICEY or BOY RACER. Not the way I want my Rex to look either.

    I agree also
You can get an oem look pod at http://www.wrxtra.com/
    -or-
get an aftermarket single DIN cd player and use the second din to put your gauges in. http://www.egauges.com/vdo_agrp.asp?SName=Dash_Inserts
I'm not sure about the size though...

I think those look great too, except for the gaps between the gauges and the pod.
and they are a decent price!
