    Cupholder

Yeah, I know. Its not going to make your car any faster, but I hate the fact that I cant set a cup of Java anywhere in my car without it spilling. So, I remebered something I saw on VW Vortex. Call your local VW dealer and ask for a cupholder for a 95-97 Passat (part # 3A186253101C). Its a nice black foldup job that holds everything from regular coffee cups all the way to a Big Gulp. Its got tension on the cups so they wont fall out during spirited driving. Two screws, and it attaches to the plastic trim on the passenger side of the shifter console. The part cost me 35.00, and it took me about 3 minutes to install. When not in use, it folds flat against itself. I'll take some pics this weekend.

Cool. I'd like to see how that looks. Not a big fan of the cupholders either.

Posted a DIY for a dual front cupholder mod here

Not sure yet how my mod will hold up under "spirited" driving...

Not quite sure if it's similar to what you're looking for, but is this pic the passat cupholder?

Thats the very one. Mine is holding up pretty well so far, and no spillage on the center console or stereo....
