Use some sound deadening material like Dynamat in the door panels. I know some people put it between the speaker and door panel, and it helps a lot.

my brother and i had the same problems when we did an instal in my car. We built custom spacers and I had to actually rout out the spacer to sink the speaker into the door a little more. I finally dug it out enough to stop the rattle. It was annoying me to death. But now that its gone the speakers sound amazing. I ACTUALLY HAVE A SOUNDSTAGE NOW!

    I had the same problem

1st question, do you have a spacer in there for the new speaker? Cause that will cause it to move out towards the door panel. When bass hits too hard, it vibrates against the panel and causes distortion. I just put MB Quarts in there and it was rattling all to hell until I took off about a quarter of an inch of the spacer.
THE TRICK-- Get a spacer that is 3/4 of an inch, that is the optimal space needed. And the plastic wrap that goes on the door itself needs some kind of dampening material, cause that will cause some distortion as well.
    Hope that helps man
