You tapped the power with your ground.... Which may have shorted something out with the electrical surge. The black wire under the clock is the ground, that was the first one I tried because black is always ground. Then I tapped the yellow-green, that worked but it stayed on ALL THE TIME. That was the permanent power. So then I tapped it to pink and now it comes on with my lights... Don't know what to say about your problem, try and clean it up, bring it to Subaru, and let them look at it.
By the way dR, you were right, that clock really WAS a BI+CH to get off!
