    How do I remove the air fin assembly from vent?

    I broke the little knob off, and the lil gears on the inside are now bouncing around, and are probably in my fan unit..


    How can I remove the vent? Its circular, so it wont just pull out..

    Do I have to remove my entire dash?!

    It pops out. I know you're going to hate hearing this, but you just have to force it. Wrap a rag around a flathead screwdriver and have at it.

    we both are talking actual fins, right? not just the sliver retainer ring..

    i yanked on the actual vents for an hour and they didnt seem to wanna pop out at all.

    thats half the battle, after that, the fins are still stuck in a global shaped pipe, and the fin looks to be bigger than the opening.. so i dunno if it would come out by pulling, physics wont allow it.
