    Question Remote Battery Life?

How long before your remote battery died? My WRX's 1 year anniversary is coming up and the remote barely even has power to activate/deactivate the alarm from the living room to the garage. I thought these things were supposed to last 5 years or so. My garage door remote batteries lasted at least a few years.

I'm ready to replace mine- it's getting pretty weak after 13 months- do you have to reprogram anything after replacing the battery?
