Adding Factory or aftermarket heated seats?

I just picked up my 04 WRX wagon last week. I'd like to add heated seats to it, since they were not an option on the Wagons. I'd like to do it with OEM parts, but I'd consider aftermarket stuff if it was good quality.

    Has anyone ever done this?

Looking at subaruparts.com, I was able to locate most of the equipment that would be needed for the installation - the bottom and back heating pads and the switches. I'd need to see a factory service manual to know if anything else was needed, but those parts alone would add up to about 400$ per seat.

The one aftermarket kit I found cost a bit less than 200 a seat, cheaper, but if the quality or fit isn't there, its not worth it.

    Any ideas?

Have you talked to your dealer? One of the guys on the board wanted heated seats and he said that his dealer could have heated seats installed in his wagon. See what your dealer says first (they might even get you a good deal, keyword *might*).

Yeah, I talked to my dealer before I picked it up. They would put in an aftermarket sunroof, but not heated seats. Also, they wanted insane prices for the options, way over what anything on the web listed, even Subaru.com.

I got a good deal on the car itself (they went into the dealer holdback), but options were insane, so I didn't get any, figuring I'd handle them myself.
