Heres my V1 install, wired it to the dome light, only have that teenie tiny wire running up into the head liner. Looks pretty slick if you ask me!

If you could please post which wires you tapped into that would be great. I've got a V1 also. Thanks.

I popped out the dome light and found the harness for the electrochromatic mirror (blue plug, wrapped up in tape tucked into roof)

Then I used the included wire splice and spliced the V1 power wire (red) to the yellow wire on the blue plug. I took out one of the screws that goes into the roof, and put the ground terminal thing on there, and put the screw back on. I then proceded to stuff all of the excess wires and the phone jack thing into the roof liner. Then I snapped the dome light back in, and it's worked PERFECTLY ever since!

That looks sweet! The only problem I see is that it looks like that little visor can't fold down. That would be nice if you could to hide it from the cops.

    very nice install man.

OT: Just curious....but do you guys actually use that little sun visor thing??? I have no use for it, cause the sun is never blocked by it. That and I may be a little short

No offense, but what is so "elite" about it? Half the V1 owners on this club have there V1s hardwired and mounted like that.

I just found your choice of words strange. You did a nice job. Get a tint strip across the top now, and the cop will have to stick his head in the car to see it.

    Discrete, yes, elite, probably not.

Got a question for ya. I know that the Valentine 1 manual says to not use metallic tint because it hinders the performance. Do you know how much it really hurts it?

Go with vinyl. The metal causes scattering. It takes down the range quite a bit depending on the metal content. The best part about it: no more laser warnings from GM tail lights. GOD those are ANOOOOOYYYYYING.

Yeah that false laser alert really scares the bejesus out of me sometimes. Cruising around town, minding my own business. Then I stop behind a TrailBlazer and the damn V1 laser siren warning goes off. SUCKS!

I am getting my car tinted soon, i'll have them do a strip across the top too, thanks for the tip.

Here is an alternate way to hook it up if you dont want to use the suction cups and make it less visible externally.
