    EGT vs A/F gauge

Which is better/more accurate? An electronic EGT gauge or one of those autometer A/F gauges? I've heard people praising both as being good for determining rich/lean condition. Which one do you folks think I should get? Thanks in advance

I'm sure you know they don't really measure the same thing.

An EGT gauge will be more accurate than an A/F gauge that isn't using a wideband 02 sensor (expensive). I'd go EGT definetly.

Yeah, EGT measures temp while A/F measures...er...something other than exhaust gas temp

I was thinking EGT, but I had to make sure. Thanks homie

EGT = (correct me if i'm wrong) Exhaust Gas Temp.

...it measures the temperature of the exhaust gases

A/F = Air to Fuel Ratio

...it measures the Air to Fuel ratio

Narrow-band A/F gauges are pretty worthless... EGT gets my vote! (Although my Wideband O2 makes me feel much more confident). Truth be told a fully outfitted car would have a WBO2 *AND* an EGT gauge...

Correct, but for bang for the buck I would go with the EGT, a narrow band A/F, Autometer etc, is just a pretty light show....
