    Possessed radar?

just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or if it might be my radar detector is messed up. It seems when im accelerating hard my detector will go off with a "laser detected" warning, most commonly at about 60-65 in 3rd gear. i have had it happen when in other gears, but it deffenetly seems to be always around 3.5-5k rpm just as the turbo really gets going, could this have something to do with boost pressure or engine vibration? its never happened in any of the other 2 cars its been in either (RSX-S, 328is).

buy a real radar detector...preferably a bel 985 cause its like the best one out there right now. my guess would be that the filtering software on ur detector is getting thrown off from the emf radiation from the plugs firing or somthing like that.

Do you have any aftermarket LEDs, lights or accessories in the car?

Valentine One: If you got the money (+100-150$$)

Whistler (forget model): 50-75 bucks more than 985 for same quality

BEL 985: Best radar detector for money, also third best overall!

    www.etronics.com

They got hella low prices on ALL electronics, including the BEL 985!

i would never waste money on a v1 who cares where the hell the cop is..just hit the breaks when your det goes off! theyre gonna pull ur a$$ over whether they are to the sides, front, or back! paying an extra 200 bucks for a stupid feature is just that..stupid.

It's more than just telling you were the cops are that make it a much better detector. The laser/radar sensing devices in it are much more precise and can detect farther than any other detector on the market. It also has 2 radar detectors instead of one (front/rear).

    V1 are amazing!

it dosent matter how many sensors you have on your detector, radar will bounce off everything and your detector will get that scatter, thats part of the reason why laser is so hard to pick up..because its only a few feet wide at several thousand feet, as where radar is like several thousand feet wide at a half mile. the v1 isnt much better at all, and i believed the bel was rated higher at one point by radertest.com...the bel 985 also had like twice the features of the v1. my bel985 can get cops like 50 or60 seconds before you see em....whats the point if the v1 can get them like 62 seconds before...you still have more then enough time to slow down..just my opinion.

It's always funny when someone with another radar detector hits their brakes 1/4 mile after your V1 went off

Too bad mine got stolen at the airport. (It was in the glovebox!) Have V1's changed any over the last 2 years? I am going to get another one.

Bell 900 series, Valentine One or the Escort are the top 3 for the last 2-3 years. I have a Bel 980 and it does the job pretty good. I would probally buy the escort though if I had to buy another one.

With my bel 980, I have been at the bottom of a hill 1/2 mile away form a cop and he has been picked up. Sometimes it picks it up too soon and you think its okay to speed up just to find out he is about to tag you on the next corner

yeah same here! HAHA i have a bel 985 and its just like that. theres no need for argument, the bel 980 and 985, v1 and passport are the 3 best detectors out there...although i would still go with the bel 985 due to the price.

    hey Renn

The V1 has had upgrades in the past 2 years. Mainly just upgrades to the radar/laser sensing electronics. It also now has a display which show the type of radar it is detecting.
