That shift light seems like it would be kind of useless, no? After all it comes on at 4k rpm.. you've got almost half of the usable rpm band left past that point!

I had it set for 4000rpm's just for the video.

here are the specs, adjustable from 4000rpm to 10200rpm every 200rpm's, can be set to provide a flashing or steady light, choice of LED color. pricing- $55 to $60 shipped

I'm thinking of setting up a group buy for this, and I'm trying to get a feel for demand. So what do you guys think?
It could also be used as a cheap water/nitrous spray controller,
and I think it is cheaper than any other that I've seen.

Ohh, I gotcha, sorry if I came off as a little harsh before It's a cool location, and looks like it'd be quite stealthy. I think that people will jump all over them w/ the different colored LED's. Maybe a progressive set of LEDs, that would start out green, then go to yellow, then red, as you neared redline? Kind of like this - T-Sport Shift Light.

brief install description

Pretty easy install, it took me about 30 min. or so.

I couldn't stand that little bump on my instrument cluster, I figured it had to be good for something, and I wanted a shift light that wasn't very obvious. This provided both

1.dissassemble instrument cluster bezel
2.remove cluster, there is only three screws. and three molex connectors on the top edge.
3.unsnap clear plastic cover, then unsnap black surround.
4.the grey surround will now be loose, if you flip it over there is a swirl marked right where the bump from the front is
6.drill a 3/16 hole from the back, this depends on LED size
7.drill a hole on the bottom of the cluster for an exit for the LED wire
8.glue LED in place, and run wire behind dash
9.access the ECU find Tach wire and splice, run the wire to drivers underdash
10.wire the shift light box
11.set dip switches for activation point and LED style (flashing or steady) the picture of the dip switch's is hard to make out, but I assure you it is very simple
12.mount box with a few wire ties, easy to access with the fuse box cover removed.
